Heat the pan: Lightly grease a nonstick skillet or griddle with butter or oil.Heat over medium heat.
Cook the pancakes:Pour about ¼ cup of batter per pancake onto the skillet.Cook until small bubbles form on top and the edges look set (about 2 minutes).Flip and cook for another 1–2 minutes until golden brown.
